Blessing of the Fleet Community Kickoff Day

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

Located in Beautiful Downtown Darien, Georgia, this day is a kick-off to start the week of festivities that will lead up to the Largest Shrimp Boat Blessing on the East Coast! Lots of activities for the young and young at heart to participate in. Show off your talents on the community stage, put your best recipe to the test by entering the Shrimp Dish Cookoff, take the kids fishing at the Fishing Rodeo, see how many shrimp you can peel and eat, or get a team together and enjoy the competitive spirit of this year's new event Cornhole Tournament. Don't worry about bringing lunch, we will have local restaurants and food vendors offering a variety of great food. There is something for everyone and best of all admission is FREE !

10:30am – Community Stage Acts Begin

11:30am – Shrimp Dish Cook-off Starts

11:30am - Shrimp Box Derby

12:30pm – Shrimp Eating Contest

1:00pm - McIntosh County Art Association & Fort King George Present

2:00pm – Community Team Events

3:30pm – Fishing Rodeo @ Butler Pond (over at 5pm)

5:00pm Cornhole Tournament @ Skipper's Fish Camp Restaurant

God bless your going out and coming in; The Lord be with you at home and on the water. May he accompany you when you start on your many journeys: May he fill your nets abundantly as a reward for your labor; And may he bring you all safely in, when you turn your boats homeward to shore.... Amen"
